The farm Tocco was founded in 1981 thanks to the will of Enisio Tocco who began the wine business in the hills of Pescara, in the municipality of Alanno. The love in thee vineyards and in selecting the grapes allowed the family to be a major supplier for local social cellars for many decades. In 2014 Enisio’s sons Lorenzo and Danilo joined him who, after studying and working in Italy and abroad, responded to the strong call of their land and created their own brand in which to convey experience and innovation. Today the company produces, in addition to wine, also oil and pasta.
Today, the lands, located between Alanno, Cugnoli, and Pietranico, are switching to 100% organic farming and cover a surface of 34 hectares, half of which are cultivated with vineyards. The other half is dedicated to Cappelli wheat and legumes.The vineyards are run based on the tendone system (also known as Italian Pergola Trellis), due to the structure, exposure, and shape of the lands.The vines cultivated are those native from Abruzzo: Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, Trebbiano d’Abruzzo, Pecorino and Passerina, and to a lesser extent Moscato, Falanghina, Chardonnay, Pinot Nero, Merlot and Syrah.
2014 is the first year of production of the wine under the brand Azienda Agricola Tocco. The following wines have originated from the desire to maximize the expression of the terroir, typing the wine and intimately tying it to the territory of origin through the exclusive use of indigenous yeasts.
Ho.Re.Ca and retail are Azienda Agricola Tocco’s reference markets to which high-quality wine resulting from an organic conversion process are offered. Despite the young age in the production of wine under its brand, the farm has been able to conquer not only the local territory but also the international one.
